We have witnessed climate change as a topic of discussion for many years now and it is an issue that affects everyone today. From the air we breathe to the water we drink and even the earth we walk on – everything is a necessity for us. Climate change impacts all of this and direly threatens our existence. But it’s important to remember that the change we are fighting for is possible, if not inevitable. Knowing what change could occur helps us radicalize the way we think – and you will read all about it, so know what is possible.
What is Climate Change?
Change is something that is inevitable and occurring around us constantly. In its purest form, climate change is defined as a long-term shift in the earth’s temperature, and its seasonal and weather patterns. The shift has undergone several changes due to the incessant evolutionary processes. Today, however, we have an alarming situation on our hands which requires effort from us to
reverse and restore our planet.
What is Causing Climate Change?
The process of burning coal, oil, and gas adds greenhouse gasses into the air, which causes extreme deforestation and industrial waste. All of these reasons, regardless of feeling mundane and insubstantial, contribute to the climate crisis and destruction of the planet. obviously we can reverse the damage, but the change we request is radical.
What Impact Does Climate Change Have on Us?
Increased Temperatures: The oppressive heat that envelops us, the unrelenting summers that only get hotter.
Melting Ice: The once-eternal glaciers are now receding, leaving behind nothing but destruction, while the sea levels are rising, endangering our coastlines.
Sea-Level Rise: As the oceans rise, valuable land, houses, and lives are being lost.
Severe Weather: The world has become unpredictable. Unexpected disasters like floods, droughts, and storms can cause havoc and misery.
Loss of Biodiversity: As ecosystems break down, so do the delicate life forms that depend on them, with species battling for existence and habitats gradually vanishing.
